Tokoname-Yaki is one of Japan’s “Six Ancient Kilns,” meaning it is a location of the oldest and most significant pottery traditions in the country. Tokoname pots are known for the durability, light weight, and ability to age well, often developing a unique patina over time.

Sampo (or Sanpou) is a renowned modern bonsai potter from Tokoname, Japan, one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, known for his high-quality, often large, unglazed stoneware pots that embody traditional aesthetics with unique textured clays and classic designs, following his father's legacy in a region famous for its pottery since the medieval era. His pots feature artisanal details like subtle lines and handcrafted warmth, making them prized by enthusiasts worldwide, and he's known for developing distinct clay bodies.
